The Netherlands DMO awards a seven-year framework to Chemring Technology Solutions for the supply of its LORIS Radio Firing System
Chemring Technology Solutions is pleased to announce the award of a seven-year framework contract for the supply of the Long-range Initiation System (“LORIS”) radio firing system to the Royal Netherlands Armed Forces Army, Navy and Special Forces.
An initial order for 84 LORIS systems, flotation devices and accessories, was placed under the framework contract, with deliveries expected to commence in 2022.
LORIS is an advanced radio firing system designed to command the detonation of explosives by radio signal for military applications. Offering both short and long-range initiation capability, full answer back functionality and flexibility through user pairing and un-pairing receivers as operations require.
The contract provides for the procurement of further LORIS systems, individual disposable receivers and flotation units in subsequent years, giving the Netherlands Armed Forces the latest technology for short and long-range requirements across land and maritime operations.
